Dear Mother,
Am still in the best of health like I always am, so don't worry if I happen to miss you with a letter.  Wrote to Dad last night, expect he'll get it along with this.

This is to be a short one only, as the shortsge of news compels me.  The rain stopped to day for once; one can always tell when the rain has stopped for the aeroplanes start buzzing.  The huns have had their planes up nearly every day the last week, that is something unusual to see, but the way they boast of their air squadrons would lead one the believe they were always up.  It must have been a terrible blow to the huns when Roumania stepped in, but Fritzy just says "Gott Strafe Roumania"!  Already our new ally has struck
