Dear Dad
Received you letter yesterday dated April 18th and contents carefully noted. You said in it about my mouth line, of course you did not notice my
Charlie Chaplin Mo; I am letting it grow and although it is hardly noticeable its there, tis nearly a quarter of an inch long now too. Your letters from home reach me, but sometimes one of yours always comes late, I dont know why. Gin looks out of plum in a photograph that Doris sent. We had a great day for Anzac Day for we had a carnival on the canal; all the Frogeaters were swimming, they swim like women.  Have charge of a section, so dont be surprised to seen me higher still, of course my age handicaps me more than anything. Was head gu yesterday for I was boss of the trench which we are making. Fancy Pat enlisting, he must be nearly eighteen now. Have not had a letter from Mr Burnsides yet. How is Rupe? No doubt his injuries have made a remarkable change in him, but we cant help that. Shall want a piece of Mrs Buchanans cake to start off with.
