Dear Dad,
Your most welcome and interesting letter dated March 3rd to hand contents of which I carefully noted. Am still going strong and not out yet, and still live in hopes of returning when this bit of a scarp is over. Have not had any letter from you for about two wk weeks now, and am just beginning to wonder what has happened, fancy none for two weeks. Since I have been here, Ferries Post, I must have received close to fifty letters or more, which is a record, every one writes to me now. Did you get the letter about the parcels? When we leave for France will be the time to send them as we will want them then. I think if you send them to Auntie Florence, and let her send them from there they will reach me more safely. There is one thing I want and that is a camera; if you cable the money to Auntie Florence, or send her the money she can buy it for me. In case I go to England from France I shall certainly want some money, so I think it advisable to send some money to Auntie, and if I want any get it. Ten to one we shall see England, as it is pretty certain we are going to this great smash up at Verdun. If I go to France I shall be in England walking up Fleet or Ludgate street in less than
