Dear Mother, & Dad,
Just to let you know that I have not forgotten you all at "The Nest", or those at "Raheen" either. You have had I suppose by this, the letters bearing my new address, they should be well on the way anyhow. It is just my luck as I hear persistent rumours of the 1st Brigade going to France, well that means a trip to England, London anyway. It is always the same I am stif as a crutch. Our battalion is now in the same
place as we were when I was in the 4th Battalion; but we may go to fight the Harem Kings slaves again, but over Bagdad way; will bag them there, for we have the roughest lot going, the ones who played
