she will shy the towel; it is only to buck the people up, so I sincerely hope that they take a good many uns, or better still put the steel through them; thats the best way. Another air raid on L Harwich yesterday, some killed & wound as usual; these air raids are good in one sense for the people buck up and get more furious, but not enough. The germans are finding these raid very costly to themselves.

Had a bunch of old letters this week, they had been to Etaples twice & to some other place, but are safe now and I enjoyed the contents as though they had been written lately.

What is all the trouble about M. W.? she writes some very good letters but never a word is said about you. Thank miss Studwell for the socks she sent; shall write her if I have time.

Have nearly thirty letters to scratch so must close before I get that tired feeling.
