Nos. 86:88 313
Camden Feb. 13th 1824
Sir,
Notwithstanding your Excellency was pleased to give orders more than three weeks since to the Colonial Secretary to inform me officially of your intentions to comply with the Earl Bathurst's commands (contained in a dispatch from his Lordship received per the Sir Godfrey Webster on the 17th Ultimo) by putting in immediate possession of the 10,700 acres of reserved land at Cawdor I beg leave to represent that I have hitherto received no communication to that effect from Major Goulburn.
As the "Ocean" is now on the eve of sailing for England I hope you will pardon my respectfully entreating your Excellency's attention to this long protracted affair; feeling assured of your concurrence in the propriety of its being finally settled before the departure of that vessel by the [decipherable] of my Lord Bathurst's instructions
I have the honor to be
Sir
Your obedt Humble Servt
Signed. John Macarthur
