The Estate of Brisbane, containing 4368 acres to the South of the South line of Cawdor was granted to me by Sir Thomas Brisbane in payment for the flock of Merino bred Rams supplied to Government. Great part of Brisbane is steep and Rocky, and it has no good water upon it - but as about a third of it is good land, I was induced to accept it, chiefly in consideration of its contiguity to Camden, as it gave me some increase of pasture without removing the flocks too far from the superintendance of my Sons -

The tract in the rocky ranges - coloured yellow to the South of Brisbane, and to the West of my Son Williams Estate, is the land offered to me in Major Goulburn's
