I am almost sure the land to the Westward of the "Church and School land" as they call it, will not be given, for the two allotments, comprised in that, are doubtless promised by the omnipotent Secretary - Yet I think my letter will prevent the Grants being made until they can obtain the sanction of Lord Bathurst and to effect that, every artifice will be used - you must do your best, altho' in such an unequal contest I cannot expect success - my letters are strong evidence in support of my statement, and their avoiding to write is strong presumptive evidence
