I do myself the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your two letters of the 6th and 22nd Inst the former reached me at this place a week after its date, the latter only this Evening.
I have been induced to postpone replying to that of the 6th Inst being desirous to explain myself in its contents to His Excellency in person; and I have been prevented from soliciting the Honor of an interview, in consequence of the pressing avocations which have engaged me here at this important Season.
