Sir,

In reply to your two letters respectively dated the 20th Decr & 29th of last January & in compliance with the desire of the Earl Bathurst communicated to the Governor in a letter recently received, I am directed to have the honor to convey to you this instruction of His Excellency to you this intimation of His Excellency's readiness to cause the Surveyor General to measure to you Five Thousand (5000) Acres of Land adjoining your present property in the Cow Pastures to the Westward of the Grant presented to your two sons by General Macquarie, to to the Southward of the other in payment for your merino rams sent to the Derwent.
