Every instruction brought from Lord Bathurst by the Sir Godfrey Webster, it is surely needless to observe in reply to your letter of the 21st instant, will receive the earliest possible attention. To carry some of them into effect arrangements never the less are necessary which require time. In the mean while it would have given the Governor great pleasure to have afforded every assistance in his power, consistently with the good of his Majesty's Service, to your flocks exposed to great dangers by the late long continued drought, had not the rain of Last night arrived most opportunely.
