Brigade Staff
Majr F. B. Heritage. Brigade Major and Military Secretary. Commanded expedition to New Ireland Occupied that Island Secured release of British Consul and captured 3 enemy ships at Garden Island Commanded expedition that took possession of Admiralties and Hermit Groups.
Captain R.J.A. Travers Staff Captain Displayed considerable dash and coolness in action. His intelligence Reports were of great assistance to me
Lieut B. Holmes A.D.C. Maintained occupation of New Ireland with a small detail of soldiers till a permanent garrison was provided Restored law and order amongst large native population
Lt Col L.R. Howse V.C. AAMC & Major Mcguire AAMC rendered most valuable work as P.M.O. officers.
Lt Col W.W.R. Watson V.D. Commanding 1st Battn Infy and afterwards O.C Troops Commanded Force which captured enemys last seat of government at Toma. His operations resulted in surrender of German Governor and were characterised by considerable military ability and determination.
