FRIDAY 20th NOVEMBER 1914
In order that the fighting efficiency of Companies will not be impaired in consequence of the withdrawal of responsible Officers to carry on the Government business, the Administrator has been pleased to approve of the following promotions:-
Color Sergeant Harold Woodford Johnson to be 2nd. Lieut.
do William M Penly do
Sergeant Alfred F. Anderson do
Sergeant Cecil Collins do
Corporal Basil I. Blackett do
The above-mentioned appointments will be on three months' probation, dating from 20/11/14.
The following wireless messages were received:-
7.30 p.m. from Major Martin:-
"Request 55 lbs caustic soda, 5 doz. dry cells for use troops can you supply"
8.0 p.m. Secretary Defence to Administrator:-
"Mr Workmur due to leave Brisbane to-day per Steamer "Southport" for Nauru, where he has been appointed Administrator at request of Imperial Authorities."
Health of Troops satisfactory.
