SUNDAY - 11TH OCTOBER 1914:

Early this morning Lieut. Manning, with some Native Police visited Watom Island, and made a thorough search for signalling equipment supposed to have been used by the Germans, but no trace of such equipment could be located.

Church Parade was held at Rabaul and Herbertshohe.

The "Madang" left Simpsonhafen early this morning to search the Duke York Islands for the German Warship "Komet".

The bodies of A.B. Street and the  German Soldier (Ritter) were reinterred in the Cemetery at Herbertshohe, Commander Beresford reading the burial service.   Dr. Haber (the late Governor) was present at the service and thanked Commander Beresford on behalf of the German Government for the kind treatment of the German dead by the British Force.

At 7-20 p.m. the Navy Office transmitted secret call signs of the Japanese Squadron now in Pelew and Marshall Islands.

Health of the troops at Rabaul and Herbertshohe continues satisfactory.
