15th Feby
This Evening Dick came from Camden with My father's letters. Fennell sent me word the Govr. goes to Sydney tomorrow.
18th
Before breakfast went to Govt House. Saw Fennell had a long conversation, showed him my father's Public letter to the Govr of the 15th. Agreed to go up again to see Sir Thomas at ten oclock.
Did so. Very long and animated interview. The Governor seemed quite roused, said he would not be made a cypher of any longer. He would act for himself he would not sanction injustice & disobedience. Spoke with great warmth of the Secretarys misconduct. Went into Fennell's office where he wrote the rough Draft of his note to me antedated the 14th and I wrote mine of the 13th to wh Fennell's purposes to be in answer. This Sir Thomas said would make the whole affair seem more regular.
He was going to Sydney in the afternoon wished me to call on him at Govt House, Sydney
