James left him and called on business upon Mr Oxley. He immediately broke out "Well your Father has succeeded Major Goulburn has just read me Lord Bathurst's orders and shewn me the Chart with all Cawdor marked Green". Judge of James' astonishment. On my receiving information of this and other matter detailed in my letter by the competitor I wrote the Secty No 10. This appears to have occasioned some alarm and the next day I wrote the letter (No 11"). What will Lord Bathurst say to this, not only are his Lordships orders trifled with but I who felt secure of their being at last obeyed am insulted "The rain that fell last night is to relieve my suffering flocks".
