Sir,

I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of this day's date forwarded by a Special Messenger.

As your communication of the 6th Ultmo varies so materially from the unsolicited offer of His Excellency the Governor, to give me a Lease of the whole of the reserved Lands of Cawdor, I beg leave to request information in what direction it is proposed to reserve the Thousand Acres which you described "as a tract around Cawdor" and in what Currency, the required quit rent is expected to be paid.

I have the honor to be
Sir,
Yr most Obedt Servt
