Sir,

I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of this day's date, forwarded by a Special Messenger.

As your communication of the 6th Ultimo varies most materially from the unsolicited offer of His Excellency the Governor, to give me a Lease of the whole of the reserved lands of Cawdor, I beg leave to request information in what direction it is proposed to reserve the thousand acres, which you describe, "as a tract around Cawdor": and in what currency, the required quit rent is expected to be paid.

I have the honor to be
Sir,
Your most obed Servant
