a River between it and them - often impassable for a fortnight to get there. This assurance in part removed my apprehension, for when I saw all the bad land included in the tract of 4980 Acres I certainly felt alarmed lest this was contrived; and events have proved I was right, for Sir Thomas fine promises have all ended in my being told, that this bad land is the only land I can have, but I must come to this by & by - From the time Sir Thomas got my letter and the Chart the misery daily encreased, and about a fortnight after James called upon Sir Thomas at Sydney when he told him, that he had arranged every thing for the execution of my plan, except the Church and School land, which must be reserved - James was prepared with an answer, and having gone over the ground I had presented before, ended in saying, surely 1600 Acres
