I beg to return your Excellency, my respectful and grateful thanks, for the obliging and ready manner, in which you have been pleased to express your desire of carrying into effect, the instructions of Lord Bathurst, with respect to the additional grant of 5000 Acres of land, in the Cow Pastures.
In obedience to your Excellency, I have now the honor to submit a plan, for the measurement of the additional 5000 Acres, & for the consolidation of the whole of my lands in the Cow Pastures, which will, I humbly conceive ensure, as far as is now practicable, the fulfilment of his Lordship's wishes, "that a tract of land should be secured to me, for preserving any flocks in their present state of purity & perfection, without incurring the risk of loss or interruption, from the establishment of neighbouring settlers."
I will not dwell upon this topic: being well aware that your Excellency has always considered the increase purity, and progressive improvements of my flocks, objects of great public importance; and has been long aware that the vigilant superintendence of my sons, (which has been rendered much more difficult from the situation of the estate of other
