Bankside Vineyard
nr Adelaide SA
July 19th 1870

Dear Sir
My this mail I forward a packet of Scions of the "Sultana" vine, also 2 of a seedling grape raised in this colony by a Mr Quick and which we have named "Quicks seedling".  It is a cross between the Shiraz or Hermitage and the Carbenet Sauvignon and promises to be a valuable grape for red wine.
Since I was at Camden in October last I have constructed a machine for crushing and stalking grapes and obtained a special prize of £15 for it from the Adelaide Agricultural & Horticultural Society -
