Dear Sir
We are this morning in receipt of your favor of 6th [Inst?], in which you requested us to forward you -
8 Doz quarts 14 Doz Pints Dry Wine
8 --"--------"-----8---"-----"------Muscat
16----------"----22---to the care of Mr Joubert which shall have our best attention. We have already communicated with Messrs Finze & Williams on the subject. They inform us it is necessary to be particularly careful that the Bottles be quite dry & they will not be able to commence for a few days, in the meantime they are engaged in making up a calculation of the expenses, which of course can only be approximate - In order to distinguish each cask when bottled we have directed Dies to be cut No 1 @ 11 - being the number of casks, & each bottle will be sealed with its respective number. these dies will cost 1/6 & 2/- each.
We have had a call from Captn Langford R[?] who it appears. has had some conversation with you relative to these wines & has ordered 12 Doz of Muscat. & will probably take 10 [indecipherable] of the Dry wine. -
We think all the wines are in condition to be bottled except one cask of Dry - & we propose to rack it [indecipherable] one of the others when empty.
We remain, Dear Sir
Yours very truly
Donaldson & Lambert & Co
