Volume 72: Macarthur family correspondence relating to wine, 1846-1900: No. 070
Dalwood Dec. 5 - 1853
My Dear Sir,
I owe you many thanks for your kind and extenso letter of Nov. 30 - which if you object not I will enclose to Capt. Best - I don't doubt that your explanation is the right one - but I fear Capt Best may give the wine up in despair, or leave it to the tender mercies of the wine merchant, and never see it in condition - it is an object to remove the bad impression, and with this view I should like to send him one or two dozen of each - Aucarot - Reisling and Bordeaux - without any Pale Brandy!
Jas. McArthur Esq
