[November 9, 1918]

It is very very cold this morning, but a lovely day about 10.30 it was a real summer or Spring day at Midday.  Just spent the morning around Newhaven & visited the Bedford camp for a few minutes.

At 3 PM Annie & Me went for a walk on the cliffs & after that, I had a drink of tea & we caught the train to Lewes S. [Station ?]  We went to the Pictures & returned home to Newhaven about 8.45 PM.  I had the hard experience of bidding her good bye but only for a little while.  Its great to have a one like Annie ½ so brave & ½ so good.
