[October 1, 1918]

Wrote to J.F.

Early rise & I left to catch the 8.30 AM train at Bilbster. Poor Mrs Cormack cried like a child when I left. Mr Cormack & Ella (their grandchild) came to the station to see me off. Miss Bruce also cycled from Watten to bid me good bye. About 11.30 AM I arrived at the Mound & I detrained & took a back branch line to a sea side place called Dornock [Dornoch], it is a nice quiet little place, with Lovely golf links & a lovely beach. Got boarding in a very nice boarding house.
Only went for a nice walk along the golf links & went through the Canadian saw mill.
Very cold here just now.
