[April 16, 1918]

Wrote to Mr D. Cormack, Miss Bruce, Miss Harvey.

Buzzer parade [Signals training] this morning & teaching a little after dinner. The N.Fs. have left here today, I found out today that Allan died at the 56th casualty clearing station at Gézaincourt near Doullens but I think it is about 16 miles from here. We are expected to leave here any day or any minute so I cannot get leave to visit Allan's grave. Plenty of troops about here, there is also some French troops here. Fritz put a few shells right back here tonight.
