[May 19, 1918]

Got releaved about 1 AM & we marched backed about 1½ miles to our old position near the old chateau. We found a little dugout & got laid down about 2 AM & went asleep. Awoke about 8.30 AM for breakfast & after breakfast we laid down till dinner. We went for a swim after dinner 2 miles from here & enjoyed it a treat. Fritz is putting some shells into the gun positions & also some into Corby [Corbie]. After tea I was lying down in the grass in the sun & I saw an aeroplane fight & one of Fritzs planes brought down, its a lovely quiet night. Nothing happened this evening & I slept nice & warm in our little dugout with no thoughts of War.
