Paris to Versailles
I was in the W.C when our train pulled into Paris & although I was only about 2 minutes in going back to my seat in the train I found someone had took my bag with all my belongings in, such as a diary, 3 rasors, underclothing, & all my socks, in fact I lost everything except my overcoat, so I am on leave with nothing except an overcoat. They gave us a lecture & I went to the soldiers club for a clean up, & then I joined a party for Versailles. I saw Eiffel tower on the way & when we got to Versailles we visited the olden kings palace, the painting were absolutely perfect, also a statue of NapolinĀ [Napoleon] the best I have ever seen. We were in the room were the peace agreement was signed between France in Germany in the 1870 & 71 war. Returned to Paris & left for South at 8.55 P.M this evening.
