[March 2, 1918]

I intend leaving tomorrow so I am staying at Cannes all day. I did not go far this morning except walk along the beach. Its a lovely day & quite a treat to be here. Two of the girls & me went for a trip around the town, having a look at some of the  beautiful house. I saw one residence which belongs to the King of Belgium, also a one belonging to some American people, with some lovely gardens attached.

I received 6 pair of lovely socks & a mufler from the Scotch people. I felt a bit downhearted at having to say good bye to them because they have been more to me than I shall ever know. In fact its like leaving home again.
