Letters from Joan, Arch, Pinnock Bob Collins

Left the Hospital at Winchcombe after breakfast & caught the London train at 8.30 AM getting to London about 12.30. We got our passes & everything after dinner, & as I missed the afternoon train, I consented to go to Sir Geo Ried's [Reid] funeral tomorrow getting promised a day's extra leave. We did not go far in London today but at 1 PM we went to one of the Theatres & saw The better Ole ['Ole], one of Bairnsfathers which was very very good. Got back to the A.I.F HQrs & slept in the War Chest rooms provided for Australian Soldiers.
