[June 21, 1918]

Letter from L Bruce
Wrote 14th to A.H. & I.F & L Bruce.

We were busy engaged in our ordinary parade this morning when Fritz put a few shells over & we had to take cover, Fritz finished our parade for this morning & I went down to the river for a swim before dinner.
Just on dinner time Fritz put 1 more shells over & our boys scattered out of this wood into a trench for shelter.
We were on Signal parade down at the river side & I enjoyed another swim in the meantime.
The evening was very quiet & I spent it in the YMCA writing.
