Card from J.F. & A. Harvey & letter from Aunt Liz.

Gézaincourt & Doullens

I got up at 6.30 AM so that I could have breakfast & be at the orderly room at 8 AM to see about my Leave for today, but when I got there I found I could not go till Dinner time. Church Parade about 9.30 AM, after the short Service (which was in the Paddock) Gen Birdwood issued some medals & ribbons & gave us his farewell address, he is leaving the Australian Corps. I got my dinner & left about 12.40 PM but came back because I was travelling on the worst route, so I left again at 1.20 PM Coisy about 1.50 & caught a few rides on my way to Doullens. I got to Gezaincourt but could not find Allans grave in the new cemetary & found it in the old one, it made me cry to see how he is buried & they did not even spell his name right on the simple cross so I marked it with pencil. Left his grave about 5.10 PM & got a drink of coffee on my way home, caught a ride part of the way. Got home very tired & weary after 9. PM. Slept well being so tired.
