Letter from Cècile

Nothing special today. It is a lovely day & I enjoyed sitting in the Sun writing a letter.  We had a church service in the morning & I enjoyed it in the open air. We received a lot of bad News about Fritz advancing on the Somme & our billeting parties & transports have all left, we feel quite certain it is to go down there. We are standing by with a ½ an hours journey notice to move, heaps of excitement. I went along to Neuve Eglise to attend a service at the YMCA but the YMCA is closed on account of Fritz shelling. A lovely night. A mate & me had a walk.
