Letter from J.F.

It is a quiet morning, no stories about Fritz going to come over this morning, although I really think he will soon come because if he gets Villers Bretonneux he can see for miles, right to Amiens. We shifted camp after dinner, only about a mile farther back, after we got shifted we had lines to lay in galore.

We are in a little bit of a dugout, very damp & wet on the ground were we sleep but my mate & me carried & found a few blankets & we have a real warm bed, well the next fellows to us are sleeping with boots & all their clothes on while my mate & me have all our clothes off. I always try to look after myself. Been in Villers Bretonneux today, a lot of planes about.
