[August 15, 1918]

Wrote to F. Kilpatrick
Letter from L. Bruce.

We went out for a walk this morning to where the land girls are clearing some land, they get 4/6 a day for 8 hours, it is hardly a living considering the price of food. We also had a swim this morning. After dinner I had a walk into the country & back at 4 PM. for tea & after tea I went for a walk till 7 PM. The country & climate is just lovely around here & I am enjoying it a treat.
We are being treated very very well.
