[April 21, 1918]

¼ loaf

Nothing special doing today except look over the lines. We visited an old country residence which has been knocked about with shells. Everything is just like Summer, & the birds have eggs in there nests.

Our Canteen brought a lot of eatables up here & we were able to get something to eat. He put a few shells around here today but did not do much damage, the mob gathered around the canteen, had to disperse once. We have a very good cellar to sleep in, these cellars under the house must be very handy & would be alright in Australia.
