[March 21, 1918]

Letter from friends at Cannes.

The ordinary parade this morning teaching the runners Semaphore. No Parades after dinner, so I spent some time studying French & I went for a walk, because it is such a lovely day. I went to the new YMCA this evening & the Service was something lovely, the Scotchman who was speaking is going home tomorrow.

I met a fellow I saw down the South Coast & we had a walk after the service. Its a lovely evening & you can see the lights going up for the front line in the distance.

Its a fairly quiet evening, except we can hear little gunfire in the distance.
