[August 24, 1918]

Wrote to L.Bruce & 40th A.H. & H.Sweet.
Letter from H.Sweet.

We were on our ordinary route march from 11 AM till 12.
After dinner two of us went out to Cleeve Hill, it is a very nice place for a roam on the golf links.
We met 4 old ladys & their 4 daughters & they asked us to have tea with them, they were very kind, about the best I have met down here. It has been a lovely day & we enjoyed ourselves a treat. I took my own sugar out with me for my tea today.
