[October 13, 1918]

Wrote to L.B. & J. Kilpatrick.

I got out of parade this morning & we went for our cycles about 6 or 7 miles from camp.  It is a beautiful morning, just like a lovely spring morning.  We got our cycles & I rode into Beckington for some parts to fix the cycle up but could not get them, so I order dinner with an old homely Lady & went & got my mate & we rode one pulling the other.  We had a good dinner quite at home among the family.  About 3 PM we cycled to Warminster, one pulling the other.

It is lovely around here, the country is just ideal.  Took the motor home to camp about 8.30 PM.
