[May 28, 1918]

Letters from Arch, Pinnock, M. McCaskill, Aloma. Ling[Liz?] & card from A.H.
Wrote 4th to A.H. & 10th to Pinnock.

Got back to our billets about 2 AM, feeling a little tired. Had breakfast at 8 AM, no Parade this morning, so I laid in the garden behind our billet writing a letter & reading poetry. After dinner we were on Parade reading the lamp [ie signalling lamp].

It is lovely here just now we can see Amiens close by & it is a jolly shame to think it is ruined with bombs & shells.
The country around here is beautiful, & the vegetation is lovely. A very quiet night.
