[September 5, 1918]

Wrote to A.H.

We had nothing special to do this morning & it has been raining a little this morning. After dinner about 15 of us left in a break (two horse) for a red cross fete about a mile from Broadways [Broadway]. A mate & me walked into the village of Broadways, & I can earnestly say it is the finest little village I have ever seen & I am just longing for another trip there. It is very historic.
We got a little we[t] driving home but quite enjoyed the day.
