Letter from J.F.
Anzac day with all its sad memories. It is a beautiful day, I had a walk to Allonville just to find my bearings for Havernas. After dinner I started to go to Havernas passing through Coisy & Flesselles, it was about 16 Kilo or more & I happened to get a lot of rides. I saw the people about 3.15 PM & I can speak only with the highest praise for their kindness. They told me stories of their past exspected leaving their home on account of the German advance, it made my heart bleed, to think that their is a possibility of them having to leave their home & everything & go on the road & no home to go to. I left about 5.10 PM & got back to camp about 8 PM it started to rain when coming back, & its getting cold.
