Fritz did not give us much trouble on the lines, only about midnight, he put a barrage over & I think he mixed some gas shells because my eyes & throat where sore. I went over to our forward Sig station twice today & saw a lot of German dead, I am quite used to dead men now & I can turn them over or go through their pockets or anything at all. This stunt has not shook my nerves as much as I thought it would. I was here right up till midnight waiting to be releaved.
