[July 19, 1918]

Letter from A.H.
Wrote 26 to A.H. & Home.

We had a Bn inspection this morning about 10 AM & we were full of activity cleaning up for it after breakfast.
After dinner we had nothing special to do except enjoy ourselves in the water.
After tea the Sig Officer was the first to let me know I had been awarded the MM & quite a lot congratulated me, & shortly after Brig Brand of our Bde gave me the Ribon. We were busy fixing up the sports ground for our Bde sports which are held tomorrow.
One of my old mates in the Pioneers is fixing A.Cormack's cross up which I am getting made & intend to erect.
