[May 7, 1918]

Wrote to Bob

I had a very wearisome night, coughed all night, my throat is still very sore, but my eyes are a lot better than they were yesterday. We have been salvaging wire all day & putting it on to reels ready for when it is needed.

It has been a lovely day & our guns have been firing steady all day, it is reported that Fritz is coming over tomorrow at 5 AM so our guns are trying to make him uncomfortable. Fritz put a few shells over this evening but nothing to worry about.

It has been a lovely day & it is a quiet evening. Very sore throat & eyes with the gas.
