[August 2, 1918]

When I awoke this morning it is raining, & looking very black, just as if it is going to rain all day.
We have just a nice home here, I had a walk to A.Coy. & when I came back I had to leave for the line straight away.
I got to Bn H.Q & after tea I went along the lines to two of the Coys. We took over from the 24th Bn & we went around our left Coys up to the knees in water, All the trenches are about knee dip in water. Quite a lot of rain today.
We had a fairly quiet night, which I thank Fritz for, I hope he does not plan a stunt just now.
