[June 16, 1918]

Wrote 12th to A.H.

It was cold this morning when we woke but the Sun got out & it was lovely. Church Parade this morning at 10.30 but I was lying in the sun & missed it , so I walked down & had a swim but it was very cold.
Everything is very quiet, a mate & me walked along the river about 6 Kilo's & the scenery is just lovely, we went to a village & saw some green strawberries in a garden & my word we wished they were ripe. The country around here is just ideal & the vegetable gardens are lovely.
Got home about 11 PM.
