[May 18, 1918]

Wrote to Bob & Aunt Liz.

Its a lovely Summers morning, a real Summers day, infact it is a little too hot. We had a look along the lines & also a look through some houses. We had very little to do today, & to our sorrow we are being releaved this evening, we did not want to leave because we have a real home here, a few of us are carrying back our servettes just in memory of Villers Bretonneux & how we tried to make our selves believe we were at home. It is a lovely evening & the 16th Bn are here to releave us, only we have to wait till about last. Still waiting at midnight.
