I changed at Perth & Inverness going N, leaving Inverness about 6.30, the country is very pretty up to Inverness, but after you get a few miles out it is not very nice. About 40 miles S of Wick the country is very dreary nearly all boggy country, with only a few sheep living on it. There is hardly a tree in the Northern Country & it is very thinly populated.
Got to Watten Station about 4 PM & went to Bruce's & from there to Cormack's. They treated me very well & I was quite at home from the moment I reached there.
