[July 7, 1918]

Letters from A.H. I.F. Bob. B.Kirkwood, Lottie Bruce, S.Cooke.
Wrote 20th to A.H. & L.Bruce.

I got back to reserves in the tunnels about 2 AM & I felt pretty tired & hungery & we received a fed & laid down, we had breakfast about 10 AM & I went straight down for a bath & a clean change & also a swim in the river, my word everything looks pleasant there now, & I can tell you we appreciate it.
I went into a house in Corbie today & got a pair of clean white sheets & a good quilt for the bed, I thought I deserved it & I risked getting caught taking in. I have a wire netting bunk & its a lovely bed. I did nothing in the evening except read & write.
My word it is lovely in this Tunnel & the white sheets & quilt make it like heaven.
